Iain & Keith's summer adventure

It started, like so many other things, with a throwaway comment, "What about a sail around Britain?". "Yes, I'll join you for a few days around the north and west of Scotland". And so, that was it agreed - 3 weeks non -stop anti-clockwise circumnavigation, leaving in one week. Brilliant contracting, what happened there then ?. Preparations began with food and drink. Man cannot live on monster munch and pot noodles alone, although some have tried. Another decision - Rum, mars bars and a potatoe - sorted (only kidding Sue). Plenty of planning to do, lists to make, deadlines to meet and so we will be leaving Dunnoon on 30th August 2010 and will (weather and internet connection allowing) post a record of our adventure here. I will hopefully also be publishing our latest position and track using Instamapper on the home page Basic info for those interested - 1850 nautical miles, average anticipated speed - 5 knots, sail power alone (no engine), anti clock direction - Dunnoon, Firth of Clyde, Irish sea, English Channell, North Sea, Shetland, St Kilda, Mull of Kintyre, Firth of Clyde - Dunnoon. 2 crew, 4 hour watches.
